Peter Bell was 4 greats grandfather. His son Duncan bell was 3 greats grandfather. His son Colin Bell great great grandfather was boat builder in Renfrew, Scotland in census 1861 he died 15 march 1869. Colin Bell's first wife was Margaret Kerr. I think Margaret Kerr's father was James Kerr in census 1841 and he was a sewing thread manufacturer in Paisley .They lived in a big house 'Whitehaugh' now demolished. James Kerr went into partnership with the Clark family who had thread manufacturing business at Anchor Mill, Paisley. This mill and business was taken over by the famous J. P. Coates who became the 3rd largest manufacturer in the world. Anchor Mill is the only mill left standing in Paisley.
