Looking for information on John Hindmarsh born 1859 northumberland.

I am researching my family tree and would like information on the family of my great grandfather John Hindmarsh born 1859 in Northumberland.I am sure he was illegitimate. He emigrated to Nanaimo, BC, Canada where he married Ellen Paterson and had 2 children, Joseph Henry Hindmarsh and Florence Isabel Hindmarsh.
John died in Nanaimo in the year 1888 aged 29.

There were so many Hindmarsh's in that area with the same name at that time. This has filled a large void in my family tree which I can now fill.
