Peter Shields born around 1820. No record of birth found. He was a rivitor so we presume he was working on the Clyde somewhere. He died before 1865.
Married to Mary Dougherty, no record of marriage found.
James Shields their eldest son born Feb 1845 in Lanarkshire Scotland.
Living in Dorset Street Anderton Glasgow.

Dear Ken, Hi there. Have you tried finding your SHIELDS family on the 1851 Census? Your James would have been a child of 6yrs, living hopefully with his family.
