OBITUARY
MR. RICHARD BOLGER.
The death took place last Saturday
at the residence of his grand-daughter,
Mrs Frank Floyd, Mahonga street, Condobolin,
of Mr Richard Bolger, at the age of 86 vears. after an illness of only a few weeks. Mr. Bolger was
born at Ingleburn and came to Con
dobolin district when quite a young
man, in fact there was very little of
Condobolin in existence - only bushy
scrub. Mr. Bolger continued to reside
here and spent about 60 years of his
life in Condobolin and district. He
was married in Yass to Miss Sarah
Ann Cox.
Mr. Bolger was a keen admirer of
horses and raced some good ones in
his time, amongst which were Strath-
lea, Tominbil and Mondex.. Strathlea
won the Parkes Cup for Mr. Bolger.
Well-known and highly respected by
many, his death will be deeply regret
ted and the sympathy of all will be
extended to the members of his family.
His wife pre-deceased him by.
about10 years, but he is survived by
three daughters - Mrs. Lawrence
(Yass), Mrs. Stonham (Bimbi), and
Mrs. Harris.
The burial took place on Monday
morning in the R.C. portion of the
Condobolin cemetery, Father O'Brien
officiating at the graveside. ..
Mr. .Robert Marlin conducted the
funeral arrangements in his usual cap
able manner.

The sisters were Mrs. Stonham of Bimbi (Forbes) and Mrs. Lawrence of Yass.
Mrs. Stonham would be Mary Jane, she married John Stonham 1858-1950 in 1898 at Yass

The death occurred in the Grenfell Hospital on Saturday last of Mr. John Stonham, an old resident of Bimbi, husband of Mary Jane, of Forbes, and father of

I do not see a further marriage for Mary Jane Stonham so this is probably her death

Alfred and Rose had one daughter 'Emma' who married Terence MACALISTER in Yass in 1924.
Richard and Sarah had other children who pre-deceased him. his death certificate will give you their names.

The Harris's had had no children by 1926. and they certainly didn't like each other enough to have any after.

OBITUARY
MRS. FLOYD.
The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Floyd, at her residence in William street, Condobolin, on Sunday, 29th January
removes from our midst yet another of our old and highly esteemed pioneers.
Up to three weeks ago this very respected old lady, who was endeared to all for her many acts of kindness, appeared to be in good health. During the heat wave she
became ill and was confined to her bed and it was expected that serious consequences would result.
Deceased, who would have been 90 years of age next March, was born in Bendigo (Vic.). Before her marriage she was Miss Tanswell, of Grenfell, and was married to Mr. Samuel Floyd, at the age oi 18 years. They
came to Condobolin from Grenfell during the 70 flood in a canoe with their three small children, the young
est (Jim) being three weeks old.
Their first landing place was on "Scott's Hill.
Deceased followed her profession here as a nurse for 40 years, until her daughter (Madeline — Nurse Floyd) took her place.
Her husband pre-deceased her 18 years ago.
The late Mrs. Floyd had a family of 12 children 10 are still living, 5 daughters and 5 sons.
The daughters are Mrs. Forland (Burwood), Mrs. Miller (Forbes), Mrs. Quince (Strathfield), Mrs. Hogan (Leeton), Nurse Madeline Floyd (Condobolin). The
sons are Messrs. Charles Floyd (Balmain), James, Dave, Sam and Frank, all of Condobolin.
There are 117 descendants, 44 grand children, 54
great grand children and 9 great great
grand children
The casket was covered with many
beautiful floral tributes and taken to
the church of England on Monday
afternoon and after a short service
the large funeral procession moved
to the Church of England portion oi
the local cemetery. The Rev J. S.
Richards being the officiating clergyman
Mr. Bob Marlin had charge of the
funeral arrangements.
We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.

Yes have this thanks, she sure was highly respected as was her daughter Madeline who was also a nurse. Between them they brought a many local residents descendants into the world. The Laurels”, was a private hospital established by Nurse Madline Floyd
