These are the few facts we have on Joseph Insley. He was born in England, supposedly in London in 1825. He came to America sometime between 1825 and 1867 when he married a Lavina Huffmyer (Huffmeyer/Huffmier). Lavina was born in Dec 04 of 1837 in Lancaster, PA. They had seven (7) children. The first three (3) were born before he married Lavina. Of course the other four (4) were after. We are not sure if he was maybe married before to another woman or she was married and he accepted them. This is our hangup. The first three (3) children were Anna, Benjamin Franklin and Lemuel.
