Looking for Iris Bevan of Cornwall, England
I'm trying to find a lady named Iris Bevan who resided in Cornwall, England during WW II. My father, Jackson Osborne, was stationed in England during the war, (8th Air Force, 385 Bomb Group). His plane crash landed during one of their returns from a bombing run over Germany. The story goes that the injured crew were sent to a convalescent place called "Walhampton Place" located off the coast by the Isle of Wright. During this time my father was befriended by the Bevan family and their daughter, Iris Bevan, wrote to my Dad's sister
(Ellen Johnson) for a while.
As one might surmise, communications dwindled and then stopped as the years passed. I'm researching my father's life and would be most interested in reconnecting with Iris Bevan or any living member of her family.
I look froward to hearing from someone who might be able to shed some light on this period in history.
Thanks for your cooperation and assistance in this matter.
