I am researching a John William HAMPTON b 1810 Tenn. He married Charotte A. SLAUGHTER,b. 1810 Virginia or Alabama. She had a son, John Slaughter. They married abt 1838 maybe in Tenn. They had 6 children together, the first being born in Tenn., All the other children were born in Mississippi.
1. Wade Wayman Wright Hampton b. 1839
2. Chrysta J. b. 1842
3. Cynthia M. b 1842 (I don't know if these two were twins or the names were misspelled.
4. William J. b. 1845
5. Eliza b 1847 (she married a Hoppes)
6. Virginia 1849

I found these Hamptons on the 1850 Census in Hinds, Mississippi.
John William Hampton is my dead end. I can't find him any futher back.
