I am looking for anything on James Thomas Watsom born about 1848.He married Catherine Edwards and they had 14 children.

Catherine 15.5.1884 married Patrick Morris they were farmers in the Ballarat area

I think that James Watson snr was buried in Ballarat and it would have been sometime after 1922 as my mother used to talk about it.
Both he and his wife Catherine from a Maori background and I have a photo of Catherine with a tattoed face.If any one has any thing on this family which could be of help or if they are some of your ancestors please let me know as this is as far as I can get back on this side of my family.

And if you sign up as a free member of the rootschat.com website, goto the Emigrants to Australia board, post some topics on bdm (birth, death, marriage) lookups as lots of rootschatters have the bdm indexes on cd-rom for each State in Australia.

rjlang on 2013-11-28 18:42:27Hi everyone, I am the gg grandson of James Watson & Catherine Edwards. Down the line through their son Edgar Watson, and his son James George Watson, and his daughter Gloria Jean Watson, and her son (me) Richard James Lang. I am interested on the note above where Catherine is of Maori descent. This is not so. Catherine was in New Zealand as a child between 1861-1867 where her father was killed. Her mother returned to Victoria, Australia with the children and remarried. I would really like to have a copy of the photograph mentioned.
