Hi Susan. My grandmother was a Buchanan and I have some information on them. Do you know what part of the country they moved to? I don't know if it is the same branch or not.

Hi susanj,
Back in 1972/75 in a small Bush settlement, called Pureora Forest, in the Te Rohe Potae known as the (King Country)Located 1 Hr East Sou, East of Te Kuiti town ship was one of two Native Mills operating.(only a short distance from the center of North Island ,N.Z.)
Don Buchanan was the Mill manager of the Pureora mill, which has now closed down.
Don had his wife a daughter, and two sons, one off them was called Dave, who passed on at the beginning of this year,I don't think he made 60,which would be so sad for one so fit.
Hi Susan:
My GGgrandmother was a Buchanan, b in NY, but have not been able to find any information on her. She married a Samuel Garland. I saw some information that might have connected her to Eidenburg, Scotland, but cannot confirm. samismimi@yahoo.com
