"...I am searching for any relatives and any descendants or collateral families of John E. Blackwell and Martha Allie Gunter and family. They migrated from the Orangeburg area in SC in the latter part of the 1800s, to Covington Co., AL: Ref: Covington Co., AL Federal Census, Fairefield Precinct 2, Enumeration 35, sheet 19. My name is A.C. Blackwell, Jr. These are my grandparents.

I am trying to identify who John E.'s parents are and any siblings. My line descends from the son of Nancy Viola Jane Lawson and James Milton Blackwell [Covington Co.,AL]. Her parents are William "Willie" R. Lawson [b. 1860], son of James P. Lawson [b. Taylor Co., GA, 1838] [GA to Crenshaw Co,AL late 1800s], and Emma Battle, daughter of Ruben Battle [b. 1833, GA] and Elizabeh Kilcrease [Taliaferro Co., GA to Brantley AL late 1800s]. Viola's sister, Mary Battle married Lenrand Lawson [b. 1869, GA], in Covington Co., AL, who is William R. Lawson's Brother.
Would also like to know where they are buried and what happened to tham after 1900 census.

I believe John E. Blackwell must have siblings in AL and possible back in SC as well. Any information you are willing to share will be greatly appreciated, as will any corrections to my information. I will also share all info I have on any of these families.

Blackwell, Lula Myrtle Kilcrease.Edna and Carman Blackwell were twins Edna married Charley H. Carroll and then married his brother Lum Edward Carroll. Casman married Lonnie Malcolm Carroll.Edna had, Dora b. Carroll ( Edenfield)Claudia B. Carroll ( Davis ) and Elisa L. Carroll (Landers). I'll get back on Jihn E. Blackwell.
