looking for KNIGHTS - ex Aust, ex UK (Norfolk)

Query by rknights

I am researching KNIGHTS family. My g/f was born in Warrnambool, Vic, Aust 1856; came to NZ (no idea why/when/how); m. 1887 in Dunedin; four children. I have over 400 on tree, but missing quite a few details of NZ descendants - esp of Stanley KNIGHTS. I am happy to share info if we are of same family - including RUSHTON (Dunedin/Alexandra).

Hello Roger,
Could you please give me your grandfather's and grandmother's names (nee ? if you have it) and what relation was Stanley Knights to them?

I will try to find info on your family in New Zealand

Hi Ngaire
My G/F was James Anderson KNIGHTS, and his wife was Emma Sophia RUSHTON.

Stanley was the eldest of their four offspring b 23 March 1889, m. Phyllis Marie Kathleen HAYNES 1921. I believe they had three children:
William (Bill) John KNIGHTS b 19/11/1926 Dunedin, d. 5/9/2008 Dunedin; James Carrington KNIGHTS b 1922 Dunedin d 1960; Betty KNIGHTS - no details, but I suspect a skeleton here:) based on Ancestry.com.

I do have some more info: e.g. schools, addresses. The only one named above that I met was Stan's widow in 1977 when she was in a rest home and not in good health, and aged about 77 y o.

Trust that this is of some help. I am happy to share tree with you.

Regards,

Roger Knights
