There is not enough info to give you any help.
Can you provides some names and dates of birth (approx) marriages, deaths, sibblings parents children etc
I'm looking for the parents of William MADILL and when they migrated to Australia.
I think they lived at Connewarre or Modewarre.
I would also like to know if any Madills still living in Geelong have any family history. An ancestor of ours, Margaret Bevis was married to William and their children were Ernest, Henrietta, Alfred, Ella, Harry, Frederick, Horace, Berna, Veda and Lois. They lived at 107 Maud St. Geelong. We have some photos of Ernie, Etta and Ella who were close friends of our family but we would like to know more about them if possible.
Hi Indra.
I have posted a few details for the family of William MADILL and Margaret BEVIS that may be of some help to you. I sent you a private message a few days ago but you have not found it as yet.
Cheers.
Thanks Tonkin. I'm still learning my way around this site. Have found all the information you sent on Madill family. Some interesting data there.
Berna, Veda and also Lois are children of Horace and Janet Madill. Horace remarried later in life but there were no children to that marriage. Tonkin has a post with lots of information.
Thanks Barrabool. I've seen Tonkin's information and added lots from that.I cannot find anything about Alfred. One history I have says that he married Elsie HONEY. I can find an Elsie Honey but no record of her marriage.
Ettie and Ella Madill had a lot of family history and photos, records etc. I was trying to find who in the Madill family would have kept any of those records after the ladies died.
There are some references to Alfred John Madill on Trove. He was recruited 3rd May 1917. He was cremated on 16th Sept 1954 at Springvale Botannical Cemetery and his remains were scattered. On Find My Past it states he was married In 1928 to Elsie May Smith. On both the 1939 and 1946 electoral rolls for St Kilda they are living at 14 Albion Street along with Ernest William Madill the older brother.
If you found the family papers I would love to hear as I am the granddaughter of William's sister Sarah Eleanor Madill.
Cheers :)
