Looking for Mary CARMODY born 29 December 1880 Orepuki Southland New Zealand

I am looking for my great, great, great aunt Mary Carmody. She was the third daughter of Patrick and Mary Carmody (nee Malone), born 29 December, 1880. Mary was one of eight children and the last I can find regarding Mary is her discharge from Seacliff Asylum, Dunedin in April, 1899. Mary's parents were married in New Norfolk, Tasmania in 1871 and came to New Zealand in about 1876. Their first three children, John Joseph, Denis Cornelius and Helen were born there. Helen was my great, great grandmother and throughout her life was known as Ellen Lena. Mary had a sister Clarice who married Robert Hunter Esplin.
Her great, great nieces Betty Tierney and Olive McSweeney have told me they were lead to believe that Mary left for Australia soon after this date. Mary had an aunt Bridget Scanlon (nee Malone) in New Norfolk, Tasmania where she may have gone. The aunts were of the opinion that Mary married a Widower with children.
I have spent 2years trying to find Mary, to no avail.
if there is anyone out there that can help with any information about Mary Carmody, I would be exceedingly grateful.

Stockman on 2016-03-10 23:56:05Thank you so much Kay for looking into this matter for me. I had requested and received all the above marriage certificates and that Death Cert and sadly none of them matched.
I won't give up and my Mum wonders if Mary may have been a house keeper for someone. I will still not give up Kay.
