Looking for MARY GIL-MARTIN

I am trying to find my husbands great grandmother. I have very little detail on her other than the following.

She married Joseph Pedro GOMS (maybe GOMES OR GOMEZ)in 1873 at Liverpool, Sydney Australia. I have a copy of the marriage certificate and it shows her name as MARY MARTIN however I have been told that she was known as MARY GIL-MARTIN. Sorry not much detail but I would appreciate any help.

She had two sons Peter & Joseph and their surname was recorded as GOMES however I cannot find deatils of their birth.
