My mother was one of there children: 2 boys and 2 girls. She was Edith M.(Donlin) Hoffman, I lost her May 10, 2011. If you could help me with family information on my great uncle Allan David Meinhaldt. He was married to a wonderful woman named Claire Elizabeth Morris. They had 3 son's: Gene, David, and Donny. They did live in Wilmington, Delaware.

If you could send me that information that would be great. my mothers name was Edith Marie Donlin B)4/24/1942- D)5/10/2011. My grandmother was Ruth Amelia Mary Meinhaldt B)4/21/1915- D)6/20/1995. When I would ask my grandmother about her family tree, I wouldn't get an answer. I do remember as a child visiting my great uncle Allan David Meinhaldt and his wonderful wife Claire Elizabeth Morris and they had three son's. I'm very interested to learn more.

I have been reserching this family line since the 1960's which originates in Tettau, Bavaria. My g. grandmother, Clara Rebecca Meinhold was a sister to Henry Meinhold. Henry, who later moved to Phila. with his family, changed the spelling of his surname to Meinholt and his children changed it to Meinholdt. In addition to Henry and Rebecca, there were brothers, George, Joseph, and Louis. George lived his live in Hazelton, with Joseph and Lewis in Minersville as well as sister Rebecca Shehamer for many years. They were the children of Lewis and Mary Ann Harman Meinhold who are interred in the Vine Street Cemetery in Hazelton. Lewis was a butcher and lived in Audenried. Another brother, who immigrated at the same time as Lewis from Bavaria, was William who was a butcher in St. Clair, Pa. where he raised his family. The grandson of George was "Red" Meinhold who was a nationally famous basketball player from Hazelton in the late 1940's. I published the entire history of this family in 2011, including many pictures, in a 244 page genealogy on my Shelhamer, Kelchner, Dunckel....and Meinhold lines. Copies of this book can be found in the Pa. State Library, the Pottsville Free Library, the Schuylkill Co. H.S., the LDS Library, and the Library of Congress.
