Where were the Montgerard and Sonderian families born and where did they live

by Kickstand74 on 2014-10-22 17:27:25

John Montgerard,(1814) father of Victor??? (France and Illinois) coal miner
Alice Sonderian,(1817) mother of Victor??? (France and Illinois)
Victor Montgerard, Illinois, coal miner
Eugene Lobet wife of Victor, Illinois
Mary Louise Verpooten (Montgerard)b1870 d1938, child of Victor and Eugeniee Lobet
or is it Louise Mary Montgerard b1870 d March 17, 1955 Michigan)
Mary Louise (Louise Mary) married to Casimer Joseph Verpooten, Belgium, b 1867 d 1939,Illinois and Michigan, coal miner. Children of marriage, Leonard, Victor, Catherine, all Michigan Casimer, wife raised Casper Casimer Verpooten,(my grandfather) son of Casimer Joseph and unknown first wife.
My research shows Alice Sounderian as a great gm but Victor and Eugenie as father or mother in laws not direct. My ancestry history, including picture of me with Mary or Louise (same person or different) suggests death in 1938, so who is Louise who died in 1955 and if Victor an Eugenie are not direct decedent's, who are? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Not sure if the same person but I'm looking for Louise Verpooten who was born in Belgium and came to Michigan, however, she is mother of Martha, Felix two others. Do you have any info?

Hi Kate, hope this information helps you. I am third generation of the Belgium ancestry.
In Belgium the name was Veporten, upon immigration it became Verpooten which is now the most common spelling. My dad changed the spelling for my generation to Verpoten.
My great grandfather Casper Joseph had a brother, Charles Verpooten, who was my grand uncle,(1862-1934). He married Louisa M. Bren, (1870-1955).The were both born in Leige,Belgium. Their children Philip George, Clementine, and Mary Teresea were born in Belgium, Jennette in Iowa, and Felix and Martha in Michigan. Felix married Lillian (?) and they had three children, Charles, June and William.
If you can fill in some of the blanks for me please email me at cominggoing@yahoo.com. Jim Verpoten aka Verpooten.

Hi again Kate. Just wanted to be sure that I did not confuse you. There is a Louise (Blake, Stanton, Ostrander and Madison) but she was born in Kentucky, sister of my mother Mildred Verpoten (Blake). Following this line there is no Felix. Still believe you are looking for Felix, born in Michigan, son of my Grand Uncle, Charles Verpooten.
Thanks
Let me know if this helps you out.
