My name is Mary Jane and I am looking for information about my birth father (who died before I was born-14th.Sept.1955)- Hendrick Francois Homan. My birth mother's name is Rosalind Homan - nee Russell. They were in Kenya, East Africa. I was born in Nairobi. The name on the Birth Certificate is Mary Jane. And it was kept as my Christian name after I was adopted. (Purposely I have put mary_jane_homan as my Log In Name to help make it easier to find my real family.)
I was told that they had 2 or 3 other children before I came along. And due to circumstances beyond her control, and with dad dying, mum gave me up for adoption. Mum did it out of love. (That's all the information I know.)
Hopefully not only will I find information, but possibly contact with any relations of mine.
If they don't want to contact me I just want them to know that I had wonderful adoptive parents, but sadly, my adoptive dad died when I was a year old. Then it was just mum and me. We shifted to Australia where I did my growing up. Then I came to New Zealand for a working holiday. I am very happily married to a very supportive and wonderful husband. We still live here. We have a 32 year old son who lives and works in Western Australia. Mum shifted to New Zealand in approx 2004. She died in 2006.
I certainly would be keen to have contact with any family members.
