looking for Nutley in Australia
My Grandfather was Ernest Edward Nutley born Dec 1905 London.
He went to Australia some time in the early 2oth century.
In 1927 he married Margaret Leggatt in Wagga Wagga and in Sydney 1928 they had a daughter Barbara.
Mother and daughter came home in 1933 leaving dad behind?
i know a bit about his family in London from the 1901 census but that is all.
Any help would be appreciated

Dear ghamilton, hi welcome to familytreecircles.
Is this your man? This Edward Ernest NUTLEY enlisted with the Royal Australian Airforce WWII.
National Archives of Australia
MARRIAGE RECORD NSW
NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages
Ernest E NUTLEY married 1927 Wagga Wagga NSW to bride Margaret H. LEGGATT.
There may be more details on EE NUTLEY if you can confirm this is your grandfather.
WW2 Nominal Roll
It's your grandfather alright, same next of kin is listed ... Elsie.
Al in Queensland, Australia.
I hope its my man! the next of kin is not the same as he married Margaret and the WW2 roll states Elsie. But as he divorced my grandma I would have expected him to remarry(so if that is the case, there should be another marriage certificate out there?) The birth date is not quite right either but he got it wrong on hie marriage certificate, so why not on this.
Nothing came up on the National archive of Australia but that could have been because i didnt know what i was doing!
thanks for your help

I have found a marriage certificate for the said Ernest E Nutley and Elsie J Grant Ref 16950/1934.
The next step is to purchase the certificate,to see if the rest of the details fit.
How much is an Australian dollsr and is it OK ordering them for overseas?
Then the next task is tracing the family! - hopefully.

He married Elsie Jean Grant who was born in Parkes NSW 1905. At the time of the marriage she lived at 97 Cambridge Street, possibly her parent's house who were Herbert William Victor Grant and Minnie Gertrude nee Turner.
