I'm a very occasional researcher--for now-- on several of my family tree branches.
When I run into a dry spell on Givans family (my maternal branch), I switch to my grandmother's maternal side of the family which is Yates-Frakes. All came to Indiana where I have always lived, from northern Kentucky in early 1900s. Believe Givans may have come from some other southern state along Mississippi river as legend is that ancestor was riverboat captain or gambler perhaps in early 1800s.
