looking for parkinson in manchester.
I am trying to trace my fathers family, Norman Parkinson, he was born in 1906 and his father is Thomas, mother Annie. However I have hit a snag in that they do not apperar to be married. I obtained my fathers birth certificate which gives mother as either Henshaw or Openshaw. The writing is difficult to decipher. Where can I go from here? I started by tracing my partners family and have done much better with that but cannot find my own. There is no-one still alive to consult.

Thomas Parkinson married Mary Openshaw 1897 Bury, Lancashire, Q1 8c 706.
Quite strange because in the 1911 census she is Annie and she and Thomas are living in Openshaw which is where apparently they were both born. Norman has a brother and sister Mary 1903 born Bolton and George 1904 Openshaw
I did wonder if it is a name error, she was known as Annie by my mother but there is also a Mary, daughter, who I have never heard of, all the other siblings I either knew or knew of them but not Mary. This is turning into more of a detective tale than an ancestor hunt. The other two children are Mildred born 1909 and Arthur, nit sure of his birth.
There is a death registered for a Mary Parkinson aged 4 in 1908 in Burnley, Lancashire
Mary is a strange one, she is listed as 8 in the 1911 census but sister Mildred is entered as dead. I remember Mildred at eighty and still going strong so it is definitely wrong. I do wonder if Mary had died but surely then she wounld not be on the census.
