Looking for passenger list of the 'STEADFAST' to NSW, Australia 1849
I would like the passenger list for the 'STEADFAST' which sailed from Plymouth, England on 24th November 1848, arriving N.S.W. Australia on 26th March 1849.
Looking for George Lynch Darby Goldfield who was on board and possibly his brother Thomas Barber Goldfinch.
George then moved to New Zealand - would also like to know which ship he sailed in to NZ - I THINK it may have been the EMPEROR (of China)??

Perhaps a RootsChatter could do a microfilm lookup for you? Worth a try.
Another site for a bit of interesting reading because it mentions the 'Steadfast' and an account of some passengers and the ship itself.

Even though website was last updated in 1996, maybe you might have some luck contacting John Symonds via email jlsymo @ ozemail dot com dot au NB: I've added spaces within the email address so that spammers with webcrawling software can't find the addy.
Just a suggestion, but try the Public Record Office of Victoria - PROV site for emigration from OZ to NZ.

Thanks Al - will check all those off asap :) - will let you know how I get on
