Looking for information on my Grandad GEORGE "BARNEY" PEARSONS family. Mainly Coal Mining familys from Houghton Durham UK. His dad was called ROBERT GRAY PEARSON known as "BOB" He was born in 1885, he married JANE THOMPSON 1906, and he died roughly around the 1970s.

I think he worked at HETTON-LE-HOLE pit, and they lived in a miners cottage opposite the pit.

Not sure of Janes Birth date, but she died in June 1954.

My Grandad was in the army in WW2, and went to India and Egypt, his best friend was called JOSEPH FOSTER BARNES also known as "DARKIE".
Don't know where my Grandads nickname "BARNEY" came from, maybe from the army. Would love to know more about his family if anybody knows anything. Thank You.
