There was a Joshua Platt born in 1854, to John Platt and his first wife, Nancy Deas. This Joshua Plat's great-grandparents were Joshua Platt, born in NC about 1770, and died about 1855 in FL; and Amy Newell, born in NC about 1775, and died in FL around 1856.
Your information on David Platt and Mary Rowe looks correct.
John Jefferson Platt was the first son of the second marriage of John Platt and his second wife, Elizabeth Roberts, born in 1861. I have never heard of the elder John Platt being called "John Jefferson," only the son, though I suppose that doesn't completely rule out that possibility.
