Looking for Rae family members in New Zealand who emigrated to Australia perhaps mid 19th c

Query by Gayfer

In researching family history I draw a blank on my paternal grandmother's (Mabel VERA Rae) father's family - Robert Alexander Rae. He married Agnes Waller (Tribe by first marriage).
In 1967 I was shown a family tree dating back to 14thc featuring the Warren de Waller family and marriage to RAE. This tree was owned by Madge Rae, my great-aunt, who subsequently lost it. I recall that she said the tree had been researched and written in New Zealand. I don't know whether by a Rae or a Waller

All members of that family are deceased. My father, William Robert Gayfer, was an only child.

Robert Alexander Rae owned Sussex Station - a sheep station in north west NSW, Australia.

Vera Rae married William Bertram Gayfer aka Jock Gayfer, manger of Eremeran Station NSW in the 1930s.

The Rae history obviously goes back to Scotland, but I can't find when or where.
