Looking for relatives of Frank Joseph LEGNEN

Query by mamacita17

I am searching for info on my maternal grandfather,Frank Joseph LEGNEN,born in France about 1893,immigrated to US 1900,but not sure where he came in. First info I have is he was supposedly married to a Nathalie Ivy McNamara in New Orleans, and had at least 2 daughters,Pearl and Gladys. He left LA at some point and I am not sure if he divorced Nathalie or just left.He made his way to San Antonio Tx and at some point met my grandmother,Josie Mae McPherson. She became pregnant with my mother,( josie said they were married on Valentine's day 1929,but I never was able to confirm a marriage and my grandmother was VERY secretive about details about Frank, only that he was tall, dark, handsome, wore white linen suits and cologne and was from France)She took the details to her grave. My mother Betty, was born in San Antonio on Nov 26,1929.Some time after she was born, he left my grandmother and ended up marrying an Hispanic lady named Mary. This was apparently a stormy relationship and on Aug 11,1931,he shot and killed her and then himself in San Antonio.

I have traced his daughter Pearl Nathalie Legnen Knox Traub to her death in Arabi or Chalmette LA in 2001.She had been married to a George Steitz Traub, who preceded her in death.

I am searching for any relatives, photos, info on my mom's dad and history and her half siblings.Mom is 81,with a recent diagnosis of Alzheimer's and has one wish to find out about her past before her memory is lost. If you can help,I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You!
