I have been researching the Gilbert family from Ridgefield CT. My Great Grandfather Jairus Gilbert and Margaret "Kelly" Gilbert lived in the area most of their lives. I have quite a bit of info on Jairus and "Maggie" Gilbert. I am having a problem with finding when and where Maggie died. I believe in her later years she was living with her daughter Mary Mullins in NY City. I am not sure about this.
Also there is conflicting info on Jairus' grandparents. John F Gilbert was born May 1828 and I believe Joel and Esther 'Foster' Gilbert were his parents. Others believe a Matthew and Abigail 'Trowbridge' Gilbert were his parents. I have not found proof of that what so ever. Looking at Joel and Esther's children's names it is possible they are his parents as he named his children after sibling and relatives from his father and mother's side of the family. I will write more on this later.
