ALICE AND ROSE MIGRATED TO USA IN EARLY 1900'S AND SETTLED IN NEW YORK. ROSE BECAME ROSE SHERIDAN MCMAHON AND ALICE BECAME ALICE SHERIDAN MEOLA.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001734933/ They appear in the 1911 census also so still in Ireland in 1911. Hugh was widowed in the time between 1901 and 1911. Alice and Rose may have emmigrated and the other 3 children stayed at home.
