I am looking for information about the decendents of Benjamin Stevens and his wife Martha Stevns. Benjamin was born in Oldbury, Worcestershire 1839 and Martha was born Chertsey, Surrey 1841. Benjamin and his family were Boatmen, living and working on the canels and waterways around his area. In February 1881 Benjamin left England bound for New York and in May of the same year Martha followed him with their 3 youngest children, Elizabeth, John and James. He then became a Farmer. They left behind the older children who were in paid employment. One of these was my great, great grandmother Phoebe Sarah
Stevens1865, her sister was called Susannah 1867 and her brother Edward 1864. I am trying to find any information I can about the decendents of the younger children and I have managed to trace them to around 1920 and living in Van Buren Township, Clay County, Indiana but no further. Can anyone help me please. Elizabeth married into the Ramage family and her daughter Martha into the Mccullough family both still in the same area.
