Looking for Susan Custard (Custer?)

I am looking for info on Susan E Custard, possibly Custer. She was born in West Virginia on 2 Jul 1817. Died 28 Feb 1898. Her spouse was John William Mercer, possibly Mercier. If anyone has anything that might be of help please let me know. I have been told by family that she is somehow linked to General George Custer. Whether the link is direct or indirect I'm not sure. Further research has shown that the last name could be Kuster or Koster as well.

Born and raised in Braddock Heights. I never realized until I started genealogy just how much history surrounds me. Not just in Braddock but also the city of Frederick.

quietcream on 2013-07-06 18:53:23I have a Susan Custard born Jul 2, 1817 in Virginia and died Feb 26, 1898 that married John William Mercer. But have not found their parents, etc. However, they had several children as follows:

Ruth H March 1852 (this is where my tree picks up)

John J 1863
