Hi deesun, I am Danny Stewart. I too am interested in the Fletchers of Limestone County, AL. John Fletcher came into the Mississippi territory somewhere around 1805 to 1809. He died in Limestone County AL. JF had a daughter, Nancy who married my GGG Grandfather. The story is told that my GGG Granfather, Matthew Stewart came to the Mississippi territory with the Fletchers from Virginia. I have been trying to track this John Fletcher's movements from the time he left Virginia till he got to the Mississippi territory. My DNA is a perfect 32 loci match to a line of Stewarts I have identified from Virginia. These Stewarts were known to have handled several business transactions for a John Fletcher who owned property in Surry County, NC. I believe John Fletcher came into the Mississippi Territory by way of Surry County, NC and then traveled the French Broad river to the new MS territory. I believe Matthew's father is one of these Stewarts that were friends with John Fletcher. Can you add to my story?
What is the birth date or your Lora Fletcher? I have a great grandmother Lora Fletcher that I am researching also. She was a field worker in Kentucky/WV in the early 1920's. My grandmother was born in Feb. of 1920 when Lora was 19. No known father...that is my quest, I want to find out who my great grandfather is since grandma isn't talking...if she knows she's taking it to her grave.
I am researching the Fletchers from NC and Tenn. I have a gggrandfather who I have listed as (A B Fletcher) who was married to Louisa Duncan (yr 1865) he was born abt 1812 in NC, she was born abt 1843 in NC. I have hit a brick wall, I have been able to find nobility on other sides of my family but I can't seem to locate my ggggrandparents and it is so frustrating. I know there are a number of Fletchers out there but surely there is information on A B & Louisa besides marriage info. He was also married to Seanar Batter in 1842. I am not sure if they had children but A B had a son: James Claude, and 2 daughters with Louisa. If anyone out there can help to give me A B & Louisa's parents names or any info on who they could possibly be I would appreciate it. Thanks, Karen
