I believe I am related to this person.
She is my great-grandmother. She died a young and tragic death, and I am trying to find out any information I can about her.
I have quite a bit information for Sarah Nee. She was the daughter of John D. Welsh and had many siblings. I have done a family tree of all my research for this family. I have located and visited her grave, and the grave of our great great grandmother Annie Kauffman, as well as the original John D. Welsh homestead in Lincoln COunty where I believe John Welsh was buried. I also have found pictures of Sarah Nee in online archives. I am descended from William Henry Welsh, her brother. Contact me and we can exchange email addresses if you want me to sent you what I have.
Do you have any family stories or history to share? I am still trying to discover if anyone was convicted of her murder.
Hello! Sarah Webber Nee was our Gr.Gr. Grandmother. Her daughter Sadie McShane was our Gr. Grandmother. We have lots of stories going back to our Great Grandparents, but are trying to find information about Sarah and her untimely death. Also, any information about her parents. Would absolutely love to find out where Annie is buried and more about the Welsh homestead and family.
Sharonseal,Iwould love to have any information that you have. As far as I know, and I still live in the Keller area, no one has ever been charged with her murder. My grandfather was her eldest son, and had a cattle ranch in Keller where I grew up. I have a few stories about what a trick rider she was and was always told that she was a princess. Several of the elders on the Colville Reservation used to call me an aristrocrat, but I never knew why.... teresas-- Sadie McShane was my grandfathers
sister, I knew her daughters and my grandpa always said what beautiful girls they were. I had to change my user name as I have a new e-mail address, but I am the old pennysuenee...
I have a picture of Sarah, Sallie, & Sadie Née. I don’t have much information about them. My grandmother was Virginia McShane Stout DeCamp. I don’t know how to post pictures on here or I’d be glad to share them. I have a picture of Sadie taken in 1904. Also a photo of Sarah taken in 1904. I too am interested in any information I can find of these 3 woman and any relatives related to them. I am the grandson of Virginia ( McShane ) DeCamp.
My mother Sally Foley Chapman was the great granddaughter of Sadie Nee and Hugh McShane. Sally was born in Nespelem Wa in 1938 and just passed away 2/22/2022. She told me that Sarah was a translator for the tribes and the US government and was murdered but her killers were never caught. Since my mothers recent death I would like to find out as much of her families history that I can. If anyone of you have any information I would be forever grateful.

Contact the ferry county auditor and see if they still have a transcript of her trial. I have most pages around here somewhere, but never got the whole thing, and never got clear through it. It reads like a trial on gunsmoke.
