Kia Ora
Kuini Te Kotahi was the daughter of Te Waiwhakaruku and Ngahiwi (from Taranaki) Te Waiwhakaruku (alias Marara Taipa) 1st husband was Hemi Kiwikiwi, My great grandfather Remana was a half sister to Kuini, I heard that he was one of 4 (quadruplets) but the 4th was a taniwha (sometimes ngarara) and the "old people" did away with it - nga korero o ratou kua hinga inainei. I have not heard that Kuini was a twin but interesting, the people who told me about my greatfather stated it was because of her mana (Te Waiwhakaruku) - giving multiple birth - who I have seen being described in land court minutes as a leading lady of the district. That funny Kuini Ngahiwi Kiwikiwi married Hemi Pekama that the line i came off and just to correct my last message Kuini twin sister married a Tamati and her photo hangs at Parihaka marae. But to tell you the truth we dont quite know the full side to that whakapapa but if you have more information on the Kiwikiwi whanau please email me some infofmation that you have gathered. matika1985@hotmail.co.nz
