looking for Thomas Owen & Sarah Boobier Family
Dear Reserachers I am looking for the relatives/generations of the Owen family, particuly in the Queenscliffe/ Geelong,Victoria, Australia area.
I am also looking for relatives/generations of the Boobier family, I believe that they lived in the suburb of Richmond,Victoria,Australia but i am not 100% sure about these details.
Thank you, any assistance would be greatly appreciated, Bob

I have come across one BOOBIER family and they lived not far from where I'm living now, in Beaconsfield Pde., Albert Park just past the Kerford Pier.
Maybe that's actually Middle Park.
Could you tell me about what year you think a Boobier family lived in Richmond and I'll have a look.
They lived not in Richmond, but in Sandridge which I believe in now called Port Melbourne, in the years - 1860 - 1880. Not much more info known.
okay, yes that's in the area. I checked the electoral Rolls, in 1903 Charles Richard BOOBIER an accountant and his wife Catherine lived at 5 McGregor St., in South Melbourne and then in 1909 they moved to 226 Beaconsfield Pde Middle Park and were still there in 1914 with Nellie, Elsie and Ruby.
You are probably looking for the father and/or grandfather of Charles Richard. I see no other BOOBIERs in the area. I'll have a look and see what I can find.
As for your owen's I found a carpenter named Sidney Charles Owen living in Bell St., Geelong in 1936, up to 1958.

Also I found the Boobier Hotel in Swanston STreet in amongst the Liquor licensing Assoc. (apparently he joined the association. This Hotel belonged to W.J.Boobier and his son charles was born there in 1860.
