Looking for UPTON of Frenchay
I am trying to research my family tree to pass along to my son and have reached a stand still I am looking for Uptons and it seem's they pretty much were in the Gloucestershire area-what I know about them is the following: They lived in Frenchay at Homeleigh cottage. My grandmothers name is Margaret May Upton born 1932 she had siblings by the name of Frederick (b.approx 1929) florence born 1930, Edward Herbert and Roy Albert who were twins born 1934 Douglas 1939 and Dave 1944. I know their moms name was Rosina "Rose" Sophia Bennett she died in 1944 and I assume she was born approximately in 1906, Their dad was Edward Herbert Upton and he died 1960 and I assume he was born approximately in 1904. They were married in June of 1927.
I have no other information on Edward's side, other than a brother who was killed in the navy and his name might of been Gilbert Upton. Rosina's mom was Laura Bennett (maiden name Hendy) she was born in 1881 and lived in Frenchay and died 1965 and from what I can tell she was married to Frederick (Charles?) Bennett who was born in 1875 and died 1924, they had the following children: Herbert Frederick Charles Bennett born approx 1910 and he married Annie Margaret Shipp 1933 I believe she was born in 1912. William Henry Samuel Bennett born in 1901 he married Eva Mary Long 1929. Roy A Brace who I believe to of been adopted 1918 from what I have been told he was in WW2 and died on the front line but couldnt get any other clarification and lastly a girl by the name of Grace I was told she died when she was in her 20's due to being struck by lightning. I know that William and Eva had a son name John who was baptised 1933, another son Robert John born 1936, daughter Dorothy Laura 1939 daughter Olive Jean 1950 and Lilian May 1933,
Herbert and Annie had a son Frederick 1934, daughter Shirley Brenda 1936 and Gordon 1937. I have found where Shirley was married in 1958 to Gordon Wilfred Perry but that is it. If anyone out there may have some leads for me PLEASE PLEASE let me know. I appreciate any help so I can go back further.
