According to 1881 census (RG11, Piece/Folio 3012/11, page 16) Robert UTTERIDGE living at 2 Court, 6 Darwin St, Aston, Warwick England. He was aged 54, married and a bricklayer.

As you say he was born around 1827 place: Upwell, Norfolk, England.

Would Robert Utteridge have had an older brother called William born in Peterborough in 1826?

If he did William Utteridge Parents were;

William UTTERIDGE born 1794 in Chatteris or Sutton, Cambridgeshire and
Elizabeth PAULEY born 1799 in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, England
They were married 5 February 1821 at Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
Elizabeth died in 1839, Peterborough, Northamptonshire,

Now as I look into this family further I don't see a Robert but all lived in Peterborough and were probably related worth keeping in mind and when you see them again you can discount them in the meantime I'll look around for Robert for you.

Thank you it will take me sometime to digest this .It sounds if it is the same family .The father would be UTTERIDGEasfar as I know .My Grandmother MARY BANHAM (UTTERIDGE) was born in Birmingham Warwickshire .sounds as if there is a connection there.My father ARTHUR HUBERT BANHAM cut all links with his family at age 15yrs ,and never mentioned them.It is only since he died age 90yrs that I have tried to find some information.
