Looking for West Walmsley, West Australia

Query by ngairedith

I am looking for descendants of West Walmsley in West Australia.

All I have is a West Walmsley b.1900, unknown where, d.October 1963 in Perth, ashes at Karrakatta

Also a West Walmsley b.1865, inknown where, d.December 1940 in Perth, buried Karrakatta

I believe one is probably the father of the other - I would like information on the wives and children etc...

Commonwealth War Graves Commission - incidentally has 253 Walmsleys

Lots of WALMSLEYs at ancestry.com but none with first name of 'West' at the moment.

There's this interesting tree at rootsweb that has 1st child William Arthur West WALMSLEY born 1857 Wiseman's Ferry NSW, father Edward. Search at rootsweb for WALMSLEY died Australia and you will see a 2nd tree that is almost identical.

These WALMSLEYs came from Drumcahy, Magheraculmoney Parish, Fermanagh, Ireland whereas others I've seen come from England.

Ted Marr's MARR KILLEN YOUNG GRAY WILSON TURNER STEWART Family History

See if rootschatters can find burial record and/or supply you with Karrakatta's caretaker contact details so you can find out more.

There is a book in the National Library of Australia catalogue online entitled Walmsley Family. Also mentions similar items - Gray family, so you know you might be on the same track.

There are numerous listings for Walmsley's in the 2008/ 2009 South Western (WA) phone book. These can be accessed on the net via yellow.com.au - a search engine is available. Not a common name so I figure this may be worth a look... afterall, I have happily received phone calls from people doing famiy history quests in the past.
