Looking for William Ellerslie WALLACE
William Ellerslie WALLACE arrived in Wellington, New Zealand on the Aurora in 1840 and at some stage after that married Arapera RONGOUROA PARAI, a Maori woman from Wellington. Their daughter Turia WARAHI or Julia WALLACE was my Great Grandmother. I would like more info on William Ellerslie WALLACE prior to his arrival in New Zealand please.
Thank you

Hey Timi, I too am related to William and Arapera, from their son Charles (Taare Warahi) he was my GG Granddad. William sailed over on the Glenbervie. Before leaving for NZ he lived in Birmingham from what I know. Not sure if your've read The Parihaka Album, there's quite abit in there about the Wallace family......Would love any info you might have gathered over the time. If you like check out the family tree I've slowly been creating over time...

Kia ora,
I am also descendant of William and Arapera,
Their son who died William Jnr, had another son
called George Silbery Wallace who in turn had my grandfather
Colin Wallace.
Jess
I am the same line as Jess above (though she has missed Charles who was William Jnr's father). My Gmother was Rona Amelia Wallace. Douglas was the adopted child of Julia and James.
Mike
Hi Mike
Douglas was also known as Takarete Turia Warahi or Vernon Douglas Harrison. He was born 8/8/1900 died 12/4/1988 at Tauranga. He was the adopted son of Julia and James and adopted brother of mt Grandfather Ellerslie Wallace Harrison.
Jim
Hi Mike,
Yep missed Charles woops! Have pieced things together finally and now know a bit more about the family! Seems we have a lot of family :-)
Jess
Hi,
I am wanting to know more about the children and grandchildren of Julia Harrison [nee Wallace; aka Turia Warahi][1852-1910] and James Harrison [died 1926]. Julia Harrison is buried at Orimupiko alongside her grand-daughter Mary Kingsley Papuni [nee Harrison]. Who were Mary Kingsley Papuni's parents? And where does the name Kingsley come from?
