Looking for William SOUTHEE (cir 1760-cir 1802) of Elmstone, Kent, England.
William Southee was born about 1760 at Kent, England. He was the son of John Southee and his wife Mary (nee Reynolds). He was about 37 years of age when he married Anne Morley on 7th October, 1797, at Kent, England. They had three children; John (1798-1892), James and Elizabeth Southee. William?s wife, Ann Southee, died about 1802 in England.
One acount says that after Ann died he next married Sophia Sharpe and emmigrated to New Zealand in 1840 on the "Lady Nugent?". Another account said that it was his son, John Southee, who married Sophia Sharpe and immigrated to New Zealand? Does anyone know which account is the correct one?
I am a descendant of the above mentioned John Southee (1798-1892. I am connected to the Southee family through my mother, Mavis June Southee, daughter of Alfred and Sarah Southee of New Zealand.
Any informaton on the above mentioned William Southee and his family would be greatly appreciated.
