IRENE WAS BORN1-3-1914 CLEVE STH AUST THEY MARRIED A QUORN AT THE WINGATE RESIDENCE I BELIEVE IT WAS POSSIBLY THE PARENTS RESIDENCE

Man Dragged By Lorry And Killed
PORT AUGUSTA, January 25.

Roy Wingate, of Quorn, received fatal injuries when he was thrown from
a motor lorry on which were a number of men travelling from Iron Knob
to Quorn. The lorry struck a severe bump in the road about a mile on the
Iron Knob side of port Augusta. Part of Wingate's clothing was caught on
the vehicle and he was dragged along the road for some distance. He was
admitted to the Port Augusta Hospital in a serious condition, and died an hour
later.

WINGATE.

On the 25th January, at Port Augusta. Roy Bennett, eldest son of Mr. and
Mrs. S. E. Wingate, and loving husband and father of Rene and Teddie. aged 21 years
(result of accident). Sadly missed.

Roy Bennett is here, as is Edward Charles (maybe son).

If Roy and Irene's son was Edward Charles Wingate, born 1934 or 5. An Edward Charles Wingate was up before the judge in 1954, his address was Eighth avenue, Woodville Gardens, Adelaide Look at Electoral Roll see if there is an Irene there.
