My mother was Emma Welburn from Namur, Quebec, Canada and my father was Edwin Ryder from Montreal, Quebec Canada - his parents were Charles Ryder and Jane Randall I believe both were from England. My mother's parents were Margaret Gunn-Sutherland from Edinburgh, Scotland and her father was John Welburn from Lancashire. John Welburn died from dysentry on Anti-Costi Island, Canada,year unknown. I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks :)

IF SHE WAS BORN IN 1880 SHE IS IN MY FAMILY TREE. HER GRANDMOTHER MARGARET GUNN WAS A SISTER TO MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER.DONALD SUTHERLAND WORKED IN EDINBURGH ROYAL INFIRMARY AND DIED IN 1889 AGE 31. MARY ANN KAY SUTHERLAND WAS WORKING AS A NURSE AND REMARRIED TO JOHN SCOTT DUDGEON IN 1906 IN EDINBURGH.
DaveW on 2014-05-22 07:29:32John Welburn was from Loftus in Yorkshire, England. He died 17 Feb 1927. I have his tree back to the 1500's.

I have just found your post from 2018. Margaret Gunn Sutherland was the daughter of Mary Ann Kay and Donald Sutherland. Donald was born on the 4th January 1858 in Latheron, Caithness and died in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on 25th Sept. 1889. His wife born on 7th April 1857 in Old Meldrum, Aberdeenshire died on the 3rd February 46 in Edinburgh. They were married on the 15th September 1879. After Donald died Mary Ann married for a second time to John Scott Dudgeon on 22nd May 1906 Edinburgh. Donnalds mother Margaret Gunn was the youngest sister to my 3 times great grandfather. She was born in Badbea on 11th June 1829 and her mother Mary Ann Sinclair died in 1837. I can fill in a lot of the history of her 5 brothers and six sisters if you should be interested.
