my mother was a Winstanley born here in New Zealand in 1922 I am Looking how it may link re my great great grandfather Thomas Frances Winstanley(b.UK 21.12 1832) and Henry Winstanley (eddystone lighthouse)whom I am told we are related too or perhaps not.

I'm trying to look into my family history on the Winstanley side too. My grandfather was John James (known as James or Jim) Winstanley, not sure of his birth date but my grandmother was 1914 (Sophia MacDonald), so probably withing 5 or 10 years either side of this for his birthday. He lived in the Bay of Plenty area, I've found him on electoral rolls there from about 1949. I'm having no luck finding his parents names and my Dad doesn't remember. Would be interested in any information you might have found since you posted this. Who knows maybe your mohter was his sister.
