Lovell Gypsies

My great grandmother used to joke about looking like a gypsy.
Now it seems 'never a truer word spoken in jest!'
I've heard that Lovell is one of the most popular names taken by Romanis, and that there was a gypsy family by the same name in the same area of South Wales as my Lovells were based!
Can anyone help me to find out if there's a connection please? I have loads of names, but no clues, as yet...
