Lumb - Halifax/Wakefield, Yorkshire

Journal by jha

I believe the surname "Lumb" means a wooded valley, and they
have lived in such a valley in the Halifax/Wakefield area since
the 14th century.

My maternal grandfather was Rowland Lumb, born Oct/Nov/Dec 1875
in Wakefield, died 1948 in Leeds. He was chief clerk at Leeds
Prison.

I'm looking for his ancestors ...
