Mabel Elizabeth Gibson, Manchester England to Victoria Australia

Journal by Morgan2409

Mabel Isobel Biggs is buried in Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery Victoria. She died 1966 at Abbotsford Victoria reg#25599 aged 70 years. Father named as John Gibson. Looking for marriages for Mabel Elizabeth Gibson
(1) J. W Hughes (Joseph William?)may have taken place in England. (two children to this marriage, Harold & William Hughes)
(2) ? Biggs (possibly Herbert Bernard Biggs died 1970 Kew, Victoria reg#1259). It appears that Mabel changes her middle name to Isobel)

Buried with her is her brother Thomas Christopher Gibson;

Thomas Gibson wrote his Will on the 18th December 1920 at Caulfield Military Hospital, Kooyong Road. It reads;
I Thomas Christopher Gibson, late No. 7368 Private Christopher Thomas Martin re-inforce Tunnelling A. I. Forces- hereby bequeath all I?m in possession of, including lands, to my sister Mabel Elizabeth Hughes.
I wish to be buried in Cheltenham Cemetery at the expense of my property
Signed; Thomas Christopher Gibson.

Hi
Just came across this site/thread. I'm a grandson of Wilfrid Gibson (that's the correct spelling despite what the census says) and can confirm your records appear to be of his brother Thomas. Another of his brothers, Ernest, also emigrated to Australia and died in 1959. He's buried with his son, Ambrose William Joyce, and second wife, Florence in Wollongong.

Cheers

Carl
