Maria Frances Freeman in Nelson, New Zealand
Hi,
I have information on my great grandmother, nine year old Maria Frances Freeman arriving in Nelson, New Zealand ,as an assisted passenger, along with her mother and siblings on the Golconda on 27 December, 1859. Her father Thomas, a bootmaker, had arrived earlier in October 1858.
I next have her marrying Stuart Fane Ogilvie in Hokitika twenty tears later in 1879 in Hokitika, New Zealand.
I would appreciate any information on her in the 20m year gap.
Regards,
gogilvie

MARIA WAS A SISTER OF MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER ELIZABETH ALSO FROM HOKITIKA. HAVE YOU BEEN GIVEN ANY INFO OF FREEMAN FAMILY I CAN ACCESS OR CONTACT THANKS NEIL BERENDT
Hi Neil,
Thanks for the contact. I have quite a deal of information on Maria from when she married Stuart Fane Ogilvie till she died. I summarised that in a chapter of a book I had published last year. I have some knowledge of her Freeman family including the Berendts. My grandfather Stuart Conyngham Ogilvie spent several of his teenage years as a member of Conrad and Elizabeth's sister Louise's household in Kumara.
I have been in contact with some of the Berendt descendants, particularly Tina Taylor.
My email address is gogilvie@xtra.co.nz I live both in Auckland and Motueka but am in Australia till 11 May. I have some access to my info but of course most of it is in NZ.
Regards,
Graham Ogilvie.
