Hi there I have been working on my husbands family tree. I have gotten to the Coulson/Codd branch. I will tell you what I have (from his aunt and second cousin) they came to canada from england in 1869. They first settled in Amaranth township for a time then moved to Streetsville where they bought a farm. Marshall was a local Minister taking over in the minister's absence. Elizabeth helped new mothers with child birth. They had eight girls and two boys. Marshall died at 72 years of age and Elizabeth died at 84 years of age.
I have more info and pictures, if this sounds like the same people please contact me. Patty

Hi. I too have relatives - Marshall and Elizabeth Coulson. My research indicates that they moved to Canada in the mid 1870's. Probably 1875.I have the 'In Memoriam' cards for them. Marshall died Jan 24 1908 in his 67th year (Trafalgar Lot 2 Con 10 - now Halton)and Elizabeth died Dec 2 1923 aged 83 years, 5 months. I came across the marriage announcement of their son - Philip. This announcement indicated that they came from Lincolnshire, England. Whether Marshall originally came from Yorkshire - I don't know. I haven't been able to get further info from England. I learned today that there is a Coulson Cairn at Con 8 Lot 2 Esquesing Halton. Maybe there might be some additional information there - could be relatives of 'our' Coulson's.
Elizabeth Codd married Jonathan Marshall Coulson 1861 in Lincs. Jonathan Marshall Coulson was born 1840 in Lincs. Marshall Coulson born 1845 Hackness York died unmarried 1864 in Scarborough
