As a Ancestry.com "Matthews Family" researcher for over 25 years, I have now come to the conclusion that only DNA is the key to opening the trail of my Matthews Tree of the past,and for me to find the true origins of my 10th generation back in time great-grand-father William Mathews/Matthewes/Matthews, he had a wife by the name of Jane/Jeane and they had four (4) children i.e.: William, Thomas,Caleb, & Elizabeth, all the children were born in the 1600's, in the New England & New Haven Ct. Area.

My Matthews DNA has been 37 Marker tested, and now proven to be directly connected to the son Caleb Mathews, the son of William and Jane Mathews, 1600's NH.Ct, and the great-grand-father of Thomas A. Edison.
