.. it is said that the Angland family emigrated to Ireland from France and that in France their name was Angleterre. The Angleterre family were Huguenots and that is probably the reason they left France - Huguenots were members of the Protestant Reformed Church of France

This family were settlers of Taita and married into the families of HIRST, AVERY, RAYNER, KING families, all of them also early settlers of the Hutt Valley
