Hi my name is Darlene Tottie (nee Milham) and I live in Hamilton New Zealand. I have been doing a Milham Family tree for a while now. My family came from Ewhurst Sussex. My 2nd Great Grandfather William Milham came from Ewhurst Sussex England and married here in New Zealand in 1878. He was the son of Willam & Ann Milham (nee booth). William was one of the early settlers in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. There are 2 Milham families here in New Zealand the ones that are decendants of William and those who decendants are from Australia. I made contact a few years ago with the Milhams from Australia and was told that our families are connected because 2 brothers left England went to Australia and 1 came to New Zealand. The person who held the knowledge to tie the 2 families together had passed on and not kept a record of the family knowledge they had or told anyone. I would be interested in seeing how we can help each other and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Darlene, My name is Derek Milham and I live in Brisbane, Australia . I am not in the process of doing a family tree at the moment owing to being too busy. However I hope to get around to it. I will sit down and send you information that I have. I am a descendant of Thomas Milham from Rye in Sussex born 1792. I have a copy of a letter from his son Thomas Leaf Milham born 1829 or 30 who travelled to Australia in 1849. Would be easier if we could communicate via email.

Darlene, I have gone through the records that I am in posession of and surprised how much information that I have . I have records and names going back to James Milham born in 1765 and a list of decendants down from there, also a 14 page bio written by Thomas Leaf Milham who came to Australia to look for his father Thomas Snr a master mariner who seems to have perished in the China Sea. It appears that most of these sites have messages that no one ever responds to. I have responded to your message as it is very recent so I will see what happens. my email is dmilham@bigpond.net.au

Hi,
I am researching Charles Milham (1840-1915) (he added and extra "L" when he came to Canada he was born on November 20, 1840 to Mary Milham in the workhouse at Battle, County of Sussex. but I do not have any information about his parents other than his mothers name if anyone has any information that might point me in the right direction it is appreciated.

Hi Alex,
Although I do have records of a few Mary Milhams born circa 1800, I don't know of any connected to a Charles. I would love to be able to help you further with this, but without some more details about the Mary you referred to, I don't know whether I can.
Kind Regards,
Wayne

Hi
I know these messages are old but I've only just signed up. Have just started doing my family tree, my maiden name is Milham and I grew up in Esher surrey. My farthers father, Walter Milgam, came from Seaford in West Sussex and I know he and his family went to Canada in 1910, I know he was back in England by 1936 as my father was born in UK. Walter was the son of William Milham (b 1819)from Chiddingly, West Sussex, and he was the son of John Milham b 1796. Not sure if any of this ties in with any of you, but I emigrated to Australia in 2010 and live in Perth, be interested to know if any of my relatives are here in Oz or in Canada.
Thanks Jayne

Hi,
I am researching the Herringe family and found that I have a sister with the last name Milham. I thought it was interesting considering I am from Australia as well.
