Moore family research
I have traced my Moore family line back to a Samuel Moore in Greenville, SC. My sources say he was born somewhere between 1756-1765. I know he died sometime in 1828. I have found a copy of his will that mentions his son, who I am descended from, and two daughters, Elisabeth and Suzanna. I found a census record in that also lists the initials of two other daughters that Freeman Manson Moore had and their ages, but no indication as to where they were born. I am trying to find Samuel Moore's two daughters and the additional two daughters of Freeman Manson Moore. I am also trying to find Samuel Moore's wife and parents and, if possible, a birth location. I need to know if he immigrated to the south or if he was born there. That way, I can know where to look for his parents. It is all very frustrating that I am prompted to pay for everything that "might" include information about him. That is about the extent of my projects right now, until I can get some more info.

Hi - I am probably the source of that information on Samuel Moore. Yes, I'd like to find his wife, parents, and area of origin, too. I have made a start by studying the families that he and his children associated with in Greenville and Anderson. Are you one of the people I have corresponded with on Freeman Moore? I am interested in learning more about the Freeman Moore line as well. You can find Susannah and Elizabeth living with Spencer Moore and his wife Emily over in Anderson county on the 1850 and 1860 censuses. There is a record of their joining one of the area churches in around 1840-1841 - RBL - received by letter. I'm pretty sure they are the two females shown living with Spencer Moore in Greenville on the 1830 census and with him in Anderson County on the 1840 census. They may have passed away by 1870; Spencer Moore died in 1871. The daughter shown as S. C. on the 1850 census with Freeman Manson more may be Sarah Clarissa - I have not verified this information, yet. There is a bit more on my blog, http://gretabog.blogspot.com/. I also have a website http://www.gretasgenealogy.com/ but haven't put much information on the Moores on it, yet. There are ways to contact me both on the blog and on the website.
